Lake Winnipesaukee is the largest lake in New Hampshire. We have some beautiful sailboats and some pretty avid sailors who compete in races every weekend. For them, as well as for armchair sailors, we carry an exciting line of antique reproduction pond yachts. These scale model display sailboats (as well as the canoes, steamboat, and tender) are not for the water, but you'll appreciate their detailed plank-on-frame construction as a beautiful addition to your favorite room.

We also carry antiqued sailing signs, men's brass nautical gifts, Tervis tumblers (double walled polycarbonate tumblers that won't break, fog, or sweat), wooden boxes with boat plans on the lid, etc.

Friendship

Before the age of the carbon-fiber racers and the need to compete for the America's Cup, the prevailing dream was a mahogany built sailing cruiser. Elegant yet sturdy, able to deal with all kinds of weather. A classic cockpit, bronze portholes and fittings, and a sensible rig. The Friendship is one of the most elegant and nostalgic wood cruisers from the 1930's.

Cape Horn

The Cape Horn is a model of one of the many wooden yachts designed and built by William Fife, possibly the most famous yacht builder in Europe during the early twentieth century. Even though many of his yachts are still sailing around, their classic lines are nearly ancient history.

Bermuda Sloop

Some boats are for looks. Others actually sail. In the 1920's pond racing was a high tech business and the racers dressed up their toy boats with assorted hardware and gear. Bermuda Sloops could be recognised by a long bowsprit on a relatively short hulled boat. As pond racers they were popular in the roaring twenties. A weighted keel, a relatively waterproof hull and hardware to trim sails and masts are all there. A rudder quadrant controls steering to some extent. With a little care you can acutually sail this one.
