America's Cup Columbia 1901
A detailed and well-presented display model of "Columbia",
the first successful, two-time defender of the America's Cup.
Defeated Shamrock in 1899 and Shamrock II in 1901. Mast, boom,
gaff, and bowsprit, stitched cotton sails, detailed standing
and running rigging. Built plank-on-frame, just as the original.

Our biggest model! A detailed and well-presented display
model of the first successful two-time defender, America's Cup
'Columbia,' which defeated the British challengers Shamrock in
1889 and Shamrock II in the 1901 cup races. With towering mast,
boom, gaff and bowsprit, stitched cotton mainsail, topsail, fore-stay,
sail and jib sails, detailed standing and running rigging. Finished
in ivory above the waterline; varnished deck, and varnished
and stained below the waterline. Mounted on a mahogany stained
wood display stand. The hull is plank-on-frame; a hollow hull,
built up of individual woodstrips nailed onto a wooden frame.
